This gorgeous dress from Missoni and illustrated by artist Tiana Langdon captures the sophisticated yet handmade/naive kind of feel i want to achieve in my dresses, although my embroidery will be in specific areas eg the neckline rather than all over to showcase my prints more. The mix of printed drawings on the sleeve with embroidered ones on the main body of the dress breaks it up really well and stops the dress being too overpowering. The colours of the embroidery give a really fresh, fun and feminine feel, they really make the dress. Using sheer white fabric is the perfect canvas as a fussy material would have been too much. This is why i will embroider only small areas to add texture without being too dominant.
