I've taken one of the repeats and played around with levels, hue/saturation and hightlights to see the different colour ways i could achieve. I think i prefer doing this using Kuler on Illustrator (which i mentioned in a previous post) as the colour combinations are more unexpected and yet you have more control over them - for example if one colour it too over powering you can swap it for another. Some of the results in Photoshop are a bit too vibrant but having said this, in the 5th example down i lowered the saturation of the colours for a more subtle effect. I have begun to think about different contexts apart from bags and could imagine these prints perhaps on a kooky make-up bag/coin purse/phone holder with embroidery and maybe a detachable crochet flower or something else over the top! As these items are ones you carry in your handbag i think i can afford to be a little bit more daring as they won't draw attention away from an outfit.
