D&G

Above are some of my favourites from the Dolce and Gabbanna Summer 2011 collection. It was hard to choose just a couple because the whole collection is right up my street - feminine, flirty, wearable, laid-back and FLORAL! The prints i developed for MPP were inspired by flowers and nature which i think is important considering the rural context in which they are intended to be worn. I love the way the clashing florals are paired with wellies and beach bags giving a real shabby chic look which is totally wearable. For ease of construction i had only thought about designing reversible dresses but i will consider perhaps playsuits and jumpsuits. Jumpsuits in particular are less obviously feminine than a dress so give the floral prints more of an edge instead of being too fussy and girly.
