Stella McCartneys Resort 2011 collection featured gorgeous botanical prints which looked like they had come straight out of a painting. She says: "I love early spring; everything's alive again and growing, I think the clothes reflect that." I also think this is reflected in the delicate nature of the prints, they are very feminine and lifelike. This has inspired me to do some first hand drawings and watercolour paintings of flowers to provide a contrast to the heavily stylised/graphic prints i have initally been working on. Florals seem to be all over the catwalk at the moment and come back season after season being reinvented by different designers so i need to create something really innovative which hasn't already been done.
